Here’s some new Blood Waterfall jock jazz, just me and Pat amblin’ along last weekend. It’s kind of a slow burner, maybe, I don’t know what that means but check it out if you like restless guitars and chirping and gurgling.
I posted this somewhere else before but anyway here’s my current set up! whee.

Pork Chop Robinson #2
January 10th, 2008

drawn fall 2007
24 pages of comics and doodles
hand-colored cover! each one is unique
http://brokenpants.com/comics/

Although I kinda planned on getting it done Tuesday, my cool body decided we weren’t going to get any sleep then be a zombie all day, so I just scanned/edited it and saved the printing for yesterday. Anyway, it’s all printed now, and I’ve been putting them together and coloring them this afternoon. So far twenty issues took me about a little over an hour, so it’s not the least time-consuming thing in the world, but it’s fun, and I get to play with crayons. Plus there are no stupid minizines to cut and staple and insert! Yay!
PCR2 looks really good and is really friggin dense, I’m pretty happy with it. It should be at Quimby’s and Comix Revolution by the weekend, and if you want to order online, maybe trade something or send a few bucks, send me an email, and if you know me in real life just ask for one.
peace

It’s been just over three months since Pork Chop Robinson #1 came out, and it’s just about time for the second issue to appear. I’ve been kinda figuring on quarterly releases, one per season maybe, so I’m only a little behind for the fall 07 book. I sort of have the excuse that the NU library where I scan them has been on weird hours, and I’ve also been putting off finishing the cover. It’s done as of a few hours, though, ooooOHOOohoooooh…

There’s not going to be a minizine this time since that was a friggin pain to cut and staple and stick inside, instead it’s just going to be longer and better. Once I scan stuff on Tuesday, I’ll still have to edit and print and all that, but I’m planning on just doing all that in one day, I’ll probably get a bear to keep attacking me all day so my adrenaline-powered body will work quickly and efficiently.

PS go to Warmer Milks’ website right now and order everything you can before they sell out: http://www.warmermilks.com/ A Special Time was one of my favorite records last year! Warmer Milks are the best.

Here’s two more cool peripheral quotations in Consciousness Explained, the first is M Minsky talking about the illusion of continuity in consciousness:
Nothing can seem jerky except what is represented as jerky. Parodoxically, our sense of continuity comes from our marvelous insensitivity to most kinds of changes rather than from any genuine perceptiveness.
and the second from Nicolas Humphrey:
As I look around the room I’m working in, man-made colour shouts back at me from every surface: books, cushions, a rug on the floor, a coffee-cup, a box of staples - bright blues, reds, yellows, greens. There is as much colour here as in any tropical forest. Yet while almost every colour in the forest world would be meaningful, here in my study almost nothing is. Colour anarchy has taken over.
